Besides the practical assistance for BSc, MSc, Diploma and Doctoral theses the HYDRA Institute for Marine Sciences offers the possibility for guest scientists to accomplish their own research projects at the field station on the Island of Elba. With our experience and knowledge of the local conditions and particularities we support you logistically with boat trips, diving and sampling as well as with technical help with construction and development of special sampling or experimental tools.
Our contacts to local fishermen and to the public aquarium in Campo nell'Elba allow us to react on demands for sampling and keeping of certain organisms or substrate. For our partners we take care for needed permissions by the authorities of the National Park of the Tuscan Archipelago for projects within the protected areas.
Please find below an overview of more than 100 accomplished or still running projects at our field station on Elba.
