Prices for food are at a medium to high European level. We recommend that you do your first shopping directly after your arrival in Portoferraio (COOP, CONAD Superstore, Eurospin, DICO) or at Marina di Campo (CONAD).
Mineral water is offered at the field station within refundable bottles by the case, so please do without plastic bottles.
In Portoferraio, Marina di Campo and in the neighboring village of Pomonte you can use a cash dispenser.
The arrival station Piombino Marittima is located directly at the ferry harbor. There are some train connections per day directly to the harbour station, all other connections are via Campiglia Marittima with a connecting shuttle bus (to be used with a train ticket til Piombino Marittima). Information about the train connection can be found at national railway websites and at the Italian railway information site (http://www.trenitalia.it)
Please ask your national railway office or a travel agent about special prices for groups etc.

As soon as the list of participants is completed, we send it to you for contacting (only with your data transmission agreement).
By plane
Some airports in Switzerland, Germany and Austria offer direct flights to Elba in the months of April to October. Information and booking at www.intersky.biz
Flights to Pisa or Rome and further travel by train to the ferry harbor station Piombino Marittima are an economic option as well.
From the ferry harbor of Piombino there is direct ferry traffic to the main harbor of the Island of Elba, Portoferraio by three ferrylines: TOREMAR (state-owned), MOBY LINES and BLUENAVY (time schedules and prices available online). The ships sail more or less regularly between 6 am and 10 pm. The passage takes about an hour. At the non state-owned lines you can get special complete-packages (car and 2 persons e.g.) but regular prices are usually a bit higher than with TOREMAR. Comparing the prices can be profitable. Timetables and prices are available in most travel agencies as well as booking.

Our field station, the Centro Marino Elba (CME) is situated in the small village of Fetovaia in the southwestern part of Elba.
By car:
Starting from the ferry harbor Portoferraio you can get to us by car via the villages Procchio, Marina di Campo and Seccheto (see map).
Arriving in Fetovaia please turn right at the first possibility about 100 meters after the Fetovaia place-name sign. The small road (Via del Forno) rises very steep uphill and brings you directly to the building of the station (the first white villa at your right side).
By bus:
Fetovaia can be reached from Portoferraio and Marina di Campo by public service busses as well. The 116 bus takes the route several times a day for a reasonable price. You can check the timetables as for business days and saturdays (Feriale) and sundays (Festivo) here.
Your arrival to the courses should be until 6 pm of the arrival day (that is the first date for each course announced on our registration site) since the event starts with a welcome and introduction in the evening.
Withdrawal
For the case of a possible illness or other unforeseen circumstance before your travel we recommend the signing of a precautionary travel cancelation insurance that will bear all expenses of the cancelation.
